Karl Reiff

Karl is an expatriate Southerner who has been based in Yorkshire for over ten years and has been singing classically for nearly as long. This is his third production with York Opera, but his first as the non-emergency tenor! His previous appearances were as Lenski in Eugene Onegin and Tamino in The Magic Flute. He has also performed with Leeds Youth Opera, Leeds Amateur Operatic Society, Huddersfield Amateurs and Sheffield City Opera amongst others. His parts have included Calaf in Turandot, Ricardo in A Masked Ball, Nadir in The Pearl Fishers, Jenik in The Bartered Bride, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Nemorino in The Elixir of Love, Pirelli in Sweeney Todd and the title roles in Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffman, Berstein's Candide and Gounod's Faust. In what spare time he has left, he is a long suffering supporter of Queens Park Rangers Football Club and is an active member of South Parade Baptist Church in Headingley.
