Clive Marshall

Clive studied for an MA in Theatre and Media Production at Hull University. He taught English and Drama in a number of York schools before becoming head of drama at Hemsworth High School. Having retired from teaching, Clive divides the time that he spends away from his home and family between York Railway Institute Band, City of York Hockey Club, moderating AS and A level practical Drama and Theatre Studies, directing an annual production for the Junior School at Bootham School and working in some capacity with York Opera. As well as occasionally appearing in minor roles on stage, Clive has directed several operas for the company. Among the most enjoyable and memorable are Don Giovanni, the world premiere of Rich Claus, Poor Claus, Albert Herring, Peter Grimes, Turandot, Don Carlos, Carmen, I Pagliacci, Eugene Onegin, The Beggar's Opera and two productions each of Hugh the Drover and Macbeth.
